Brother Kevin “Midnite” Walton is the 4th and 9th Basileus of the Epsilon Iota Iota Chapter of Omega Psi Phi, Fraternity, Inc. Brother Walton was born and raised in Staten Island, NY.  Upon graduating from high school he enrolled in Southern Connecticut State University earning his Bachelor of Science degree in Corporate Communications.

 

Brother Walton first became entrenched in the New Haven community while participating in numerous community service projects on and off campus, most notably the Nguza Saba Project where members of the Black Student Union tutored and mentored elementary and middle school students from New Haven in math and science. Brother Walton also had the privilege of working as a director for the Dixwell Q House summer camp. These experiences proved to be very rewarding and encouraged him to seek out other service oriented opportunities.

 

Brother Walton and his line brother Keith Price were initiated on May 15, 1992. As an active, financial member of EII, Brother Walton has held numerous positions including Basileus, Vice-Basileus, Keeper of Peace, Dean of Pledges for three lines and currently serves as the First District Fundraising Committee Chairman.

 

Brother Walton continues to serve the New Haven community as a Commissioner for New Haven Parks and Recreation, as the Coordinator for the New Haven Boys & Girls Club Girls Basketball program and as the Head Coach of the Lady Blazers U-16 AAU program.

 

Brother Walton is the Head Girls Basketball Coach at Career High School in New Haven. During his tenure, the Lady Panthers have won 6 division titles, 2 Southern Connecticut Conference Championships and 2 State Championships. Brother Walton led his team to 3 straight appearances in the state finals from 2007, 2008 & 2009. Most notably, winning the 2008 Class LL Championship and finishing the season ranked #1 in the state. For all of his teams’ accomplishments on the court, Brother Walton is most proud of the fact that many of his players are honor roll students and most attend college after high school.

 

Brother Walton is employed as a Human Resources Specialist / Minority Teacher Recruiting Coordinator for the Area Cooperative Educational Services (ACES) where he handles all aspects of employee relations and recruitment and retention of teachers of color.

 

Brother Walton resides in New Haven with his wife Dr. Karen DuBois-Walton and their 2 beautiful sons Kevin Jr., 13 and Kaleb Elijah, 8.
